The Beast and the Butterfly (updated)

The Mirror Phantom is a monstrous creature that preys on humans. They live in another dimension beyond mirrors. In our world, they are nocturnal and appear in a humanoid form, looking very beautiful and ghost-like. Thunderstorms lure these creatures out into our dimension where they will hunt for food. They will first try to seek out any humans trapped in the storm and attempt to lure them into false safety. After they are successful, they begin forcing their prey into maddening illusions, trying to drive them into insanity. Then, they will approach the prey, spreading massive black butterfly wings, and with one simple kiss they will drain their life energy. However, this isn’t all. Sometimes the creature is not satisfied enough with just energy. When that happens, they will devour their prey entirely after they are weakened. Shooting or stabbing these creatures is a very bad idea, as their blood is very toxic and would kill if it touched human skin. It is also said that some black butterflies are the creature’s daytime form.
